About School ( short description of the school)
Our school "Mihail Sadoveanu" is not far from the centre of Braila, a six hundred-year-old town situated on the on the left bank of the Danube River. Our school, called “Scoala Gimnaziala “Mihail Sadoveanu”(Middle School) provides primary and lower secondary education. We are extremely fortunate in having a large building and a beautiful garden surrounding it. There are 24 classrooms, biology, chemistry computer studies laboratories included. There are 2 classrooms offering the best possible conditions for teaching English and French languages and a school library where children discover the joy of reading. Recent opportunities have included a large gymnasium providing up-to-date facilities.

The school is headed by a principal Mrs. Simina Casanalta.

We are small enough for all the students (470 aged 6-14) to get to know each other and for the staff (30 teachers) to know the students and their individual differences. Our students have always been involved in a wide range of extra -curricular activities which usually enrich children's life, are fun and often lead to life-long interests.

Our aim has been to provide a friendly and stimulating environment at school,to encourage both scientific curiosity and to create awareness of the importance of having a healthy lifestyle for the harmonious development of the body and mind.

Students at our school have experience in European projects. They participated in the period 2012-2014 in a Comenius Multilateral Project financed by European Commission ,,Lifelong Learning Programme'‘, ,,Study and training of the traditional games and traditional sports, which join countries and make friends’. Our aim has been to provide a friendly and stimulating environment at school,to encourage both scientific curiosity and to create awareness of the importance of having a healthy lifestyle for the harmonious development of the body and mind . By participating in these European cooperation projects, students practice their skills needed for the XXI century.
